On what would have been his 101st birthday, The Captain Tom Foundation are asking everyone to take part in a special event called Captain Tom 100 to honour Captain Tom, as well as continuing his legacy of hope by fundraising for your chosen charity.
It's super simple to join in! Just take on a challenge around the number 100, anytime and anywhere over Captain Tom's birthday weekend (30th April - 3rd May) and get your friends and family to sponsor your efforts.
Great news - you don't need to be a marathon runner or an elite athlete to take part – this is a challenge for all ages and abilities. Here's how:
1. Think up an activity based around the number 100. It can be absolutely anything you like; 100 handstands, 100 metre sprint even a 100 minute silence. Once you have your 100 locked in, join the challenge via: JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving
2. Share your fundraising page with everyone you know and ask them to support your challenge by making a donation.
3. Complete your challenge any time between Friday 30th April and Monday 3rd May.
4. Join the nationwide community by sharing your 100 on social using #CaptainTom100
NB Please follow Government guidelines around social distancing and exercising safely :)
We're excited to see what everyone chooses for their 100 challenge and we'll be showing our support to all those who fundraise for us and tag us in to social posts using @momentumcharity.
We've also decided to award a prize in the following categories:
If you think your 100 challenge could be a winner, let us know by emailing us on fundraising@moment-um.org
