Bailey Laine
Katie has always worked with charities close to her heart, and whilst working for one of these charities she met our patron Kim Ismay. At the time Kim was working on our 10th Anniversary gala, Live at Las Vegas, and Katie helped her to source some of the props. Through this, Katie learnt more about Momentum and has been a very active supporter ever since. She has refurbished our beach hut and riverboat, as well as providing us with her company’s products to sell in aid of Momentum. These can be found on our online shop, where the profits go directly to Momentum.
“I realised that I loved everything about Momentum as a charity and really wanted to support it. I particularly loved the fact that it is there for families for life, not just a short period of time or just whilst they are needed. I adored how it was run, the extraordinary people behind it, the work it does, the infectious passion that flows through its core and everyone involved on it. It is a total joy of a charity on every single level. In truth, we wish Momentum didn't have to exist, but it does and the work it does is phenomenal.
I didn't know my journey with Momentum would last as long as it has but I try to do whatever I can, when I can to help out a little. I never feel like that is enough. The first project I got to work on was their gorgeous Beach Hut. I love being by the water and so, having the opportunity to work on this space and knowing what it would eventually offer those that were to use it was a total honour. I was just starting my own company at the time and we were able to use some of our initial soft furnishing lines in the Beach Hut. The tranquility of the beach continues into the Beach Hut offering families the time and space they need in a stunning natural environment.
By late 2015 Bailey Laine was really starting to take off and my time in the north of England was more hectic than ever but I still wanted to support Momentum as much as I could. I have and will continue to support Momentum and its projects for as long as possible, in as many ways as I can. Momentum's work is vital in supporting families in exactly the right way, at the right time and long may they continue to be able to do so.”
