Kerrie's Year of Fundraising
Kerrie has chosen to fundraise for Momentum, as well as the Brain Tumour Charity and Action Medial research for Children, after her son Spencer was diagnosed with a brain tumour on Christmas Eve. She plans to hold multiple fundraising events over the year including an auction and Golf Day to increase her current total, which is a staggering £17,052.54.
To kickstart her fundraising, on 8th January in front of a group of family and friends, Kerrie shaved off all her hair, which was given to the Little Princess Trust to be made into a wig.
“Momentum are a small charity based in Kingston, I honestly cannot tell you what an amazing wonderful charity they are. They have been on the end of the phone for me in the wee hours of the morning when I have been collapsed on the bathroom floor, feeling totally helpless wondering how I'm going to manage to get through another day putting a brave face on for my children. Not only that, they helped me do a surprise makeover room for Spencer, it was totally awesome and he was completely made up, they have respite holiday lodges for families who need a much-needed break, we were also fortunate enough to use. In summary for such a small charity they are there unconditionally, and that work is invaluable to families who find themselves in this horrific situation. Thankfully Spencer is now in remission, and the time has now come for me to be proactive and help towards making someone else's journey that little bit easier.”
