Kingston Hospital Phlebotomy Room
The old Phlebotomy Room has been transformed with a wonderful new design using a beach theme. This is the room where children have their blood taken, including children that we support who are undergoing treatment for cancer. The environment can really help distract and relax children during this unpleasant procedure. The children being treated are now able to immerse themselves in the design, whether it’s focusing on the fish in the sea, the beach hut on the sand or seagulls on the ceiling.
“The new phlebotomy room has made a huge difference to our children who come for blood tests and investigations. The designer has created a lovely calm and relaxing environment. We have received wonderful feedback from our children and families. Thank you, Momentum, for making a difference.” Jamie Patel, Paediatric Clinical Practice Facilitator.
Two local schools supported this project: The Rowans School and Reed’s School.
“Our School Council nominated Momentum Children’s Charity as our local Charity of the Year in 2017. It’s brilliant to see the newly refurbished room designs and we are thrilled to know that our school fundraising has made a real difference.” Joanna Hubbard, Head of The Rowans School,
