    Golf Day raises over £12,000

Richmond Golf Club are victorious as event raises over £12,000

Our annual Charity Golf Day at Richmond Golf Club on Friday 7th June managed to be a huge success despite the rain.

Fifteen teams were out on the course for a shotgun start’ at 8.45am and made sure that they all had their waterproofs.

Each team had their own celebrity guest from the Stage Golfing Society and this year we were delighted to welcome Ian Ashpitel, Steve Coppell, Barry Cowan, Wayne Eagling, Peter Fleming, Phil Glenister, Dom Holland, Jason Isaacs, Steve Jones, John Peters, Jeremy Thompson, Chris Villiers, Mike Winsor and David Yelland.

The competition to Stableford Rules was won by the Richmond Golf Club team, with Barclays Bank in second place and West Byfleet Golf Club third. Nearest the Pin was won by Ryan Holland and Longest Drive by the actor Jason Isaacs.

The fundraising part of the day comprised of selling Mulligan flags, a ‘Nearest the Pin’ competition and a raffle and auction. We were delighted as usual to welcome a team of Barclays Bank volunteers to help with run the day and to match fund these activities up to £4,000. Overall our fundraising total for the day was over £12,000.

Our thanks to all the teams who joined us on the day and to the celebrities for the Stage Golfing Society. Also, thanks to the following who donated auction and raffle prizes:

    Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens

    Barry Cowan
