Kingston Mayor Delivers Christmas Gifts to Children in Hospital

The Mayor of Kingston, Cllr Geoff Austin, sprinkled some Christmas magic to the children on Sunshine Ward this morning when he delivered presents on behalf of Momentum children’s charity.

Dozens of presents have been kindly donated by Surbiton-based company Genuine Solutions to Kingston-based Momentum, who work in hospitals across SW London and Surrey supporting children with cancer and life-limiting conditions.

Kirstie Whitcombe-Smith of Genuine Solutions in Surbiton said: "Every Christmas we deliver presents to those we feel would truly appreciate a gift, both young and old. This year we are thrilled to have chosen to donate gifts to our wonderful local children’s charity Momentum, who will deliver them to children at Kingston Hospital with the help of The Mayor of Kingston.”

The Mayor of Kingston has chosen to support Momentum as his charity of the year until May 2017.

Momentum’s co-founder Bianca Effemey said: “Momentum has always been about making the dark times more bearable for families coping with a sick child. Never is this more pertinent than over the festive season when many children continue to face regular hospital visits and treatment, with some even spending Christmas Day in hospital. We are enormously grateful to Genuine Solutions for their kind gifts and also for the Mayor’s support.”
