Momentum holds Charity Golf Day At The Richmond Golf Club
Our 10th Charity Golf Day at The Richmond Golf Club on Friday 12th June was a huge success with 18 teams playing. Celebrities playing included our Patron Phil Glenister, Sky TV tennis presenter Barry Cowan, Bob Pugh from Game of Thrones, football legend Steve Coppell, George Asprey who plays Scar in The Lion King, comedian and writer Dominic Holland and Nick Knowles and Billy Byrne from DIY SOS.
Thanks to Ian Ashpitel from the Stage Golfing Society for helping to organise the day for us.
There was big excitement on the 12th hole when our Charity Trustee Wyn Roberts scored a hole in one! He insisted on donating the cost of the traditional hole-in-one penalty of a round of drinks for everyone at the club, to Momentum instead! Here he is with his brother Gary and football legend Steve Coppell, who was his celebrity team mate.
We were also delighted that our new Celebrity Patron Alex Corbisiero joined us for the fundraising auction and donated a signed England Rugby Shirt which raised £1,000!
Thanks to Barclays Bank who entered a team to play and gave us four matched funding volunteers who boosted our fundraising total by £4,000. (Final total for the day to follow next week).
Congratulations to the team of top lawyers from Slater Gordon for winning the competition and thanks to comedian Dominic Holland for being our auctioneer and raising £3,150.
American Golf in Norbiton gave us discount on our Golf prizes and auction and raffle prizes were donated by Surbiton Golf Studio, The Waldorf Hotel, Richmond Golf Club, Brook Kingston Lodge Hotel, Bentalls, Ian Butcher and Alex Corbisiero.
Finally, thanks to everyone who played on the day for supporting Momentum. Our fundraising total for the day was just over £10,500.
