A record year for the Richmond May Ball on Richmond Green raising £75,000 to support charity
The Richmond May Ball 2018 Friday 11th May saw 450 guests enjoying a Laurent Perrier champagne reception in a stunning marquee sitting proudly on Richmond Green - a glamorous start to a glorious fundraising Ball.
Guests included television star Amanda Redman and brilliant mimic, Jon Culshaw. Amanda cheerfully drew the lucky raffle tickets and Jon gave a hilarious selection of his famous impressions, including Donald Trump and Andy Murray.
There followed an emotional film depicting the work of this year's charities, Home-Start, Momentum Children's Charity and My Life Films. This inspired the guests to raise £27,000 in the Live Auction alone.
After a sumptuous four-course dinner and the excitement of the auctions and raffle, guests danced the night away with the amazing band Fake Tan until carriages at 1a.m. Magically, after all the guests had gone and within only a few hours, the marquee was transformed into a lively craft tent for all the fun of the May Fair on Saturday.
With final calculations still to be made, it is clear that the Ball will have raised at least £75,000 to contribute to the chosen charities' vital work.
We'd like to say a huge thank you to the Richmond May Ball committee for selecting us as one of their charities, and their tireless work for putting together such a successful event. This was the Richmond May Ball's silver anniversary and it was made possible by the generous sponsorship of a number of local businesses including Be Richmond, Featherstone Leigh, Berkeley Homes, Knight Frank, Handelsbanken, The Bingham and Banham.
